The Pura Vida way is...
learning to embrace all of our emotions.
The Pura Vida Way is available for adults and adolescents who are seeking a nurturing and empowering counseling experience. I offer 50 minute sessions to individuals and families along with group therapy that can run from 1 to 2 hours.
As a person centered therapist, I meet my clients where they are without judgement. It is through our ability to embrace and feel all of our emotions that we can discover our true authentic self as we follow our own path to healing through exploring our own resiliency. This path often calls us to be brave enough to seek out the support and guidance we need in order to understand how to navigate through the rocky roads of our journey.
I have a holistic therapeutic approach that allows me to view each person as a whole being as I strive to help clients to gain awareness of the connections between their emotions, thoughts, physical experience, and spiritual understandings. Our mind, body, and spirit are connected and in constant communication with each other and create our whole self. For instance, our mind can often feel restless which can allow the body to take on the feeling of nervousness, physical pain, or tension while our natural connection to our spirit helps ground and guide us on our life journey. As a holistic therapist, I want to provide you the tools to help you understand and listen to your whole self and help you find balance and feel complete. Often times when we feel “out of balance” it has to do with not being aware or not feeling complete in certain aspects our whole self and environment.
I have helped families and individuals cope with stress, anxiety, relationship issues, depression, anxiety, ADHD, and mood disorders. I counsel adults, adolescents, parents, and families in the area of substance abuse by providing drug prevention and intervention services.
I also encourage self-care and overall wellness to enhance the mind and body connection that promotes greater well being. I use meditation, imagery, and promote nutritional health into my practice.
